2010 K&N Pro Series Rookie of the Year candidate Michael Self comments on signing of K&N as title sponsor of the series

PARK CITY, UTAH (January 22, 2010) – Michael Self will compete in the newly re-named K&N Pro Series West full-time in 2010. The 19 year-old Park City, UT driver will compete for Mike Naake / Motorway Motorsports with the intention of competing for the Rookie of the Year and championship honors.

His 2010 season kicks-off in the non-points Toyota All-Star Showdown at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, Calif. on January 29 and 30.

As a rookie entering the K&N Filters Pro Series for 2010, what does it mean to you to know that K&N has signed on to title sponsor the series for seven years?

- “Having K&N sign as the primary sponsor just reassures me of the dedication that comes from the great companies that support NASCAR. There's no doubt that K&N will likely bring improvements to the already great series and keep it strong every year they support it.â€
What are you feelings about the future of the K&N Filters Pro Series on the West Coast following the announcement?

- “K&N is one of the most well-known companies in the automotive industry, and I'm sure it will add excitement and interest to the series. K&N has proved to be one of the greatest supporters of the racing industry and I'm sure they will only continue to bring positive aspects to the sport.â€

I know you were excited to be entering the series this year, but does this sponsorship make you even more excited about the attention the series will be getting in 2010?

- “Definitely, adding a new sponsor adds new fans and a whole new level of interest to the sport. I think that the series will see a big increase in its level of interest with the addition of a major, well-known company like K&N as the title sponsor. For me as a driver, having more fans and more people interested in the sport makes it all the more exciting for me.â€
